The Gibson/Woodbury Charitable Foundation was established in the fall of 2010 as a vehicle to promote the ideals of its founders, Harvey Dow Gibson, Helen Whitney Gibson, Wendell DeWitt Woodbury and Evelyn Smith Woodbury. The purpose of the foundation is to enhance the vitality and wellness of all Mount Washington Valley residents and its environs through charitable giving to established 501(c) (3) non-profit organizations.

As a private, community foundation based in North Conway, New Hampshire, we do not limit our grant funding to any particular field of interest or organization. Instead, we seek to focus on the core ideals of our mission statement, with equal access and diversity to all who apply for funds. To conserve limited resources, we cannot consider more then one proposal from the same organization within a 12 month period.

The Gibson/Woodbury Charitable Foundation welcomes grant funding requests from non-profit organizations serving the Mount Washington Valley in Carroll County, New Hampshire, as well as non-profit organizations serving the town of Chatham, New Hampshire, and the Fryeburg, Maine area, including the towns of Lovell, Denmark, Sweden, and Brownfield.

Each year the foundation receives many more worthy requests than we can fund, however, the board of directors will consider all requests for funding from any organization that meets the Internal Revenue Code as a Tax-Exempt Section 501(c) (3) identification status that is based within the geographical areas outlined above.
